MICROSYS Completes Successful Pioneering Work
Microsystems technology and ultra-precision manufacturing are considered key technologies for future economic development in Germany, and throughout Europe as well. MICROSYS has been successfully pioneering this field of technolgy for three years now. As the only trade fair of its kind, it presents microsystems technology in the areas of R&D, ultra-precision manufacturing, micro-handling, micro-assembly, micro drive technolgy and supplier services in both theory and in actual practice. Microsys and MiNaT will enter into cooperative collaboration next year. The MICROSYS trade fair is economically significant, and it’s full of promise for the future. 64 companies exhibited the most up-to-date know-how and processes in the fields of microsystems technology and ultra-precision manufacturing to international expert visitors this year at the Sinsheim Exhibition Centre at the 3rd MICROSYS from the 9th through the 12th of May, 2006. Exhibited products included a whole series of world firsts including, amongst others, a high speed bond tester, a plasma device for special surface pre-treatment, a new type of gear tooth profile for greatly improved P-toothing performance, a high precision micro eroding-milling process for extremely small holes and high performance high-tech ceramics for the production of precision parts. MICROSYS takes a practical approach and functions as a driving force for research and industrial application. This aspect is underscored in actual practice by the UPM expert seminar (ultra-precision manufacturing), which was promoted under the technical direction of the NC Society from Ulm, Germany. Additional seminars were offered by the FZK (Karlsruhe Research Centre) and the imm (Institute for Microsystems Technology in Mainz). With 1050 visitors, the highly practical presentations held by exhibitors at the forum were very well attended.
The 20th CONTROL took place concurrent to the 3rd MICROSYS. The international trade fair for quality assurance enjoys a worldwide reputation. Attendance at both events resulted in extensive synergies for the 22,079 expert visitors.
As of next year, MICROSYS will be promoted in close cooperation with Messe Stuttgart and their MiNAT trade fair. The dates have already been set: from the 12th through the 14th of June, 2007, at the new Stuttgart Exhibition Centre.
